we fully educate our baristas on the art and science of making the perfect espresso shot. we then train them on making silky smooth latte milk and light cappuccino milk. we pass on our knowledge on the provenance of the coffee beans and their ethical sourcing. we coach our staff on the friendly and high quality customer service we believe should be the norm, and not the exception… this process takes at least three months and is done hand in hand with our coffee supplier. |

Ru:Ruairi McGuinness and his long suffering wife Lu (!), opened for business on August 21st 2006. Ru's business ethos is "a commitment to serving great coffee, expanding our knowledge and watching out for new trends. From day one our mission was simple; great coffee and great customer service." |

Lu:Louise can be seen most mornings huddled in one corner of the unit steaming milk! Before her husband had the idea of coolaboola she ran her own design business (and still enjoys doing freelance work). |

Chris:Chris (otherwise known as Ace) joined us in mid 2007. He is a full time member of staff and a full time member on the Wall of Shame. He is also our resident cleaning tsar!! |

Chris:Chris (also known as Seamus McFlurry) joined us in October 2007 and is our Head Barista. He is also our resident ‘coffee geek’ and knows all that is to be known about our coffee and its origins. He recently competed in the the UK Barista Championships and narrowly missed out on a spot in the last 24; he is however now ranked #1 Barista in the north-east! |

Dane:Dane (or Dave, Dale, Dean, Den, etc.) joined us in the summer of 2007 and is a part time member of staff and a full time physics student at Durham University. He likes Sigur Ros and numbers are his friends.... |

Ben:Ben joined our team in March 2009 and is working for us full time before he heads off to study economics in Glasgow. Although he has been a customer since we opened he was very surprised at just how much attention to detail is required to make a great coffee. He likes climbing and loud music. |
