ethical sourcing and low food miles play a major part of philosophy. our milk comes from the nearby lanchester dairies, our soups are hand made by a fantastic supplier in county durham, our baked goods come only a few miles and our sandwich supplier is about 500 yards away!
our coffee beans travel directly from the farms to the union roastery in london (where they are roasted by hand in small batches), are delivered to us, freshly ground to order and then made into your favourite drink. A system that was recently praised on radio 4’s food programme by ian bretman of the fairtrade organisation.
as a small business we feel it is essential to help out where possible, that’s why we regularly give away gift vouchers for local charities and raise funds for movember and macmillan cancer support.
